Mishel Fernandes BPT

Resident Physiotherapist

Mishel is a Resident Physiotherapist based in Canada. She began her physiotherapy journey with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) from Rajiv Gandhi University in India in 2018. She moved to Canada in 2021 where she completed a physiotherapy bridging program at the University of Alberta.

Afterwards, she started working as a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) while preparing for her Canadian Physiotherapy Competency Exams. She recently completed her first of two exams, and is now able to work in Canada as a Resident Physiotherapist. She is able to work independently in the clinic under the guidance of a supervising mentor. She will complete her final exam by the end of 2024 where she will be a fully licensed Registered Physiotherapist.

 

She has experience in hospital settings and private clinics treating various orthopaedic conditions. She has a special interest in pre- and post- op treatments of the knee, hip, shoulders, and elbows. Her treatment style includes hands-on therapy including soft tissue therapy, mobilizations, rehab exercises, and various modalities for pain relief.

 

She has dedicated herself to further enhancing her skills to meet the standards of practice and helping people reduce their pain and improve their function. Outside of work, she finds joy in dancing and exploring different cuisines. She is looking forward to being part of 416 Chiro!
